At Vivosonic, Amjad is leading the quality initiative to move towards ISO 13485:2003 upgradation. He is looking after the regulatory affairs and updating technical documentation to meet international regulatory requirements. He has been working as manager of quality assurance and regulatory affairs in medical device industry working towards ISO 13485 for the last 5 years.
Amjad has been involved with quality management systems for more than 20 years, on three continents. Instrumental in implementing systems that improve customer perceptions while at the same time yielding efficiency gains, Amjad has a unique grasp on management system requirements.
Amjad has worked with organizations in a wide variety of industries. He worked for nineteen years with a large international chemical company. In his capacity, he led the production initiative, achieving and maintaining Business Process Excellence based on ISO 9000 principles. His organization was regarded as the leader in the country and also recognized as such within the Hoechst organization.
Having a unique blend of technical expertise and knowledge of processes within textile and leather industry, Amjad was chosen as the only person from Pakistan to lead Pakistani industry by working as National Quality Development Coordinator within the Export Promotion Development Project of UNCTAD/GATT, and Export Promotion Bureau. He gained extensive insight by working in international projects.
Taking what he had learned within Hoechst, Amjad moved on to provide registration assessments. He worked with the German registrar, DQS, performing audits in a significant number of companies. Amjad gained experience on the most appropriate way to implement management systems in both manufacturing and service applications.
