Clinical Applications Specialist
Dr. Olena Sokolova is a hearing health care professional with extensive experience in various sectors. She conducted research in Audiology in 1978-1987 at the O.S.Kolomiychenko Research Institute of Otolaryngology in Kyiv, Ukraine, particularly on hearing aid fitting rationales based on the loudness growth function, immittance audiometry, and evoked potentials. She worked as an ENT surgeon and Consulting Otolaryngologist in 1987-1992. Dr. Sokolova co-founded and headed in 1991-1996, the Hearing Clinic, and serves on the Board of the Hearing Rehabilitation Centre Aurora. She has established the highest standards of comprehensive service for the hearing-impaired, and trained hearing health care professionals in auditory diagnostics and hearing aid fitting.
Dr. Sokolova joined Vivosonic in 2001 as a Clinical Applications Consultant. With her extensive knowledge in the field and in consultation with hearing health care professionals across North America, Dr. Sokolova develops functional requirements to Vivosonic products and provides customer support in their clinical applications. She holds a Medical Doctor (1978) degree from the Medical University in Kyiv, Ukraine, and a PhD (1987) in Otolaryngology from the O.S.Kolomiychenko Research Institute of Otolaryngology for the thesis titled Characteristics sensorineural hearing loss and their application in amplification for the hearing-impaired.
